Horseback Riding, Lessons and Camps

Horseback riding or lessons: 
Private horseback riding or lessons may be arranged by appointment.  Rates start from $45 per hour per person. Any special needs can be accommodated.  Group rides or lessons are also available at $45.00  per person for 1 1/2 hours. 
    
Girl Scout Horseback Riding Clinics: 

For over 25 years JB Ranch in Elverta, CA has been teaching  horsemanship classes specifically geared for the Girl Scouts in all respects of the requirements to earn  their Horse Fan,  Horse Sense, and Horse Rider badges.

The horses used are well trained seasoned horses. The horses backgrounds and training come from use in horse camps, lessons, and motion picture work.

For your convenance and safety certified safety head gear is available. Upon completion of any program at JB Ranch a certificate and souvenir will be awarded to the girls.  
 
 Horse Camp for Children:
 Tired of watching your children spend their time off sitting at home watching TV?
 Well, why not send them down to JB Ranch to learn how to take care of a variety of horses and ride. That's right, JB Ranch is offering a five day horse camp during the week. The camp guarantees to be both a learning experience and a lot of fun for your child.  

Camp starts in the morning and lasts for 3 hours.  The first day will cover the ground rules, how to catch and groom a horse.

 

By the end of the week, the students will have learned:

  • Proper horse management
  • Shoeing
  • Proper saddling
  • Safety on the ranch and around the horses
  • Basic riding skills 
  • Bridling a horse
  • Grooming a horse
  • Good horsemanship
  • Feeding 
          
    For the safety of your child it is required that your child is  dressed in pants and closed toe shoes.  Safety riding head gear is provided.

    

 Prices are $225 per week session. Daily rate  is $50 per day.  Additional hours are available.

To hold a reservation a $50 deposit (per child) is required.
